Zero Motorcycles introduces a new limited edition e-bike, the Quickstrike

KUALA LUMPUR: The Zero Motorcycles 'Quickstrike' e-bike is based on the company's 2019 Pikes Peak International Hillclimb factory race bike, the Zero SR/F. As mentioned in the headline, this one is a limited-edition product with only 100 units on offer globally.

With the Zero SR/F e-bike as its base, the Quickstrike showcases several carbon fibre components and a few styling revisions. On the price front, the latest e-bike from Zero Motorcycles is USD 999 (RM 4,159) cheaper than the SR/F that is priced at USD 21,945 (RM 91,378).

Zero Motorcycles Quickstrike exterior highlight is the matt black theme that underpins the unit beautifully. For instance, it gets -

• Black aluminium flyscreen
• Black anodised lever guards
• Black anodised mirrors
• Smoked lens LED turn signals (front & rear)
• Carbon-fibre mudguards front & rear
• Quickstrike tank badge
• Lapel pin indicating the limited production run
• Swingarm spools

The Zero SR/F, the base bike for the 'Quickstrike', gets a Z-Force ZF75-10 electric motor that churns out a maximum power of 110 hp at 5,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 189 Nm. The setup helps the e-bike attain a maximum speed of 200 kmph.

Along with the motor comes the ZF 14.4 lithium-ion battery pack (max capacity of 14.4 kWh) that takes 4.5 hours to get 100 percent charge via a 3 kW charger. If a 6 kW charger is used the 100 percent charging time reduces to 2.5 hours, and a 95 percent charge is attained in 2 hours. It can be charged via DC too, however, in this case, the 100 percent charge time doubles to 8.5 hours and 95 percent charge in 8 hours.

The e-bike weighs 220 kg and has a seat height of 787 mm.

The braking front is guarded by J Juan with twin radial-mount four-piston callipers on 320 mm diameter discs at the front and a single J Juan calliper at the rear with 240 mm disc. Suspension, on the other hand, is taken care of by Showa 43 mm diameter Big Piston Separate Function BP-SF forks, fully-adjustable at the rear and a Showa monoshock, also fully-adjustable at the rear.
