No mechanical changes
Does Yamaha Y16ZR World GP 60th Anniversary Edition have any mechanical changes over the standard model? The answer is no. The special edition two-wheeler continues to get energy from the same 155-cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation (VVA). It churns out a maximum power output of 17.7 hp at 9500 rpm and a peak torque of 14.4 Nm at 8000 rpm. Sending power to the ground is a six-speed, assist and slipper clutch equipped transmission coupled with chain final drive.
Same suspension setup
The suspension duties are taken care of by the same conventional telescopic forks at the end that are 10 mm taller. On the rear lies the preload-adjustable mono-shock.
Optional brake disc lock
On the braking front also, there are no updates available. That means the bike is equipped with
a two-piston brake calliper and 245 mm hydraulic disc brakes at both ends. However, there is an optional brake disc lock worth RM 100 also on offer.
17-inch alloy wheels
The Y16ZR World GP rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 90/80 R17 front and 120/70 R17 rear tyres, providing a better on-road grip and traction.
Pricier than standard Y16ZR
The Yamaha Y16ZR World GP 60th Anniversary Edition price in Malaysia starts at RM 11,688 (excluding road tax, registration and insurance), which is the same as the ‘Doxou’ edition. However, in comparison to the standard version, it is RM 1,000 dearer.
Limited to 5000 units
The availability of this new and exclusive Y16ZR is limited to just 5000 units, so in case you want one, you need to hurry up before it’s gone. With every purchase, Yamaha is offering a two-year or 20,000 km manufacturing warranty against manufacturing defects.
