Yamaha Y15ZR Special Edition gets a colour upgrade for 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Malaysia has given the Y15ZR Special Edition a colour upgrade for 2025. This iconic 150cc moped is now available in a striking Bronze Fury shade, replacing Blue.

Apart from the colour upgrade, there is no change in the Y15ZR SE Special Edition pricing. It is still priced at RM 9,498 (excluding road tax, insurance, or registration). The price includes a 2-year or 20,000 km manufacturing warranty.

Just like the price, the 2025 Yamaha Y15ZR Special Edition specs sheet remains the same as earlier. It features the same 149.7-cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, single-cylinder engine generating a maximum power of 15.4 PS at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a 5-speed transmission mated to a chain final drive system.

The Y15ZR SE differentiates itself from the standard model with the help of attractive graphics and decals, a Yamaha basket with a USB Type-C charger, and an exclusive aero kit. The latter includes a visor located on top of the front cowl and air scoops positioned on the side of the front as well as the rear cowl.

Other key inclusions are - 

• Modern LED headlights consist of three parts (2 low, 1 high) 
• Full LCD metre panel offering all the essential driving-related information to the rider
• 17-inch gold-painted wheels wrapped with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tyres

The suspension setup comprises conventional telescopic forks at the front wheel and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. Handling the braking duties are hydraulic brake discs at both ends.

The new Yamaha  Y15ZR SE is now available at all authorised Hong Leong Yamaha Motor dealerships across Malaysia. On the purchase of the moped, Hong Leong offers a brake disc lock worth RM 100.
