Yamaha Ego Avantiz gets three new colours in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: After updating the colour palette of the Yamaha Y15ZR earlier this month, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Malaysia has now rolled out visual upgrades for the Ego Avantiz scooter. 

The 2023 model year of the popular Yamaha scooter is offered in three shades - Grey, Cyan, and Red. The former two feature yellow stripes for contrast while the red one is teamed up with white stripes. However, black-painted alloy wheels are common in all three versions.

With the colour update comes a slight increase in price. Yamaha Malaysia retails the 2023 Ego Avantiz at RM 5,998 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration), which makes it RM 460 pricier than the 2022 model year.

The scooter continues to take power from the same 125-cc BlueCore air-cooled single-cylinder EFI Euro 4 compliant engine, which pumps out a maximum power of 9.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Sending power to the rear wheel is an automatic transmission paired with a V-delt and a wet multi-plate clutch.

Just like the mechanicals, the 2023 Yamaha Ego Avantiz equipment kit also remains the same with an aggressive-looking LED headlight, which offers adjustable brightness according to daylight. The scooter also comes with a safety parking lock system which ensures the bike stays in place during engine idle and parking. Adding to the safety is a grab bar available for the pillion rider.

Among the other key highlights are -

• Instrument cluster with an inbuilt ECO indicator
• 14-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 70/90 front and 90/80 rear tyre
• Single hydraulic front disc brake and a rear drum brake
• Telescopic fork suspension at the front and a rear monoshock single absorber at the rear
• 14-litre under-seat storage compartment that can accommodate a jet-type helmet
• 4.2-litre fuel tank
• 773 mm seat height

The 2022 Yamaha Ego Avantiz is now available at all Yamaha authorised dealerships across the country.
