Yamaha brings 2019 Y15ZR and NVX155 Doxou to Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Yamaha Malaysia has launched Y15ZR and NVX155 Doxou at the Yamaha Gen Blu Carnival, which has been organised at MAEPS, Serdang. Although the standard versions of these bikes are already present in the market, the Doxou variants come up with massive potential in the premium and sporty lifestyle segment.

With these two new bikes, the Japanese company also offers a premium limited edition gift that includes keychains, ownership certificate having engine and chassis details and Doxou headphones. The bikes get the matte blue paintwork along with reddish-bronze. On the other hand, the black with blue stripes at the front wheel and the light blue wheel at the give the two-wheeler a sportier touch.

Moving to the powertrain, both the bikes are equipped with similar engines like the standard models. Y15ZR has single-cylinder liquid-cooled mill having a displacement of 150 cc, which comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 15.4 PS power, which comes at 8,500 rpm and the peak torque is 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm.

While NVX155 is powered by a 155 cc single-cylinder engine, which is capable of pushing out a maximum power of 14.8 hp coming at 8,000 rpm along with the peak torque of 14.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm, the power is sent to the wheels via a CVT gearbox.

As for the braking, Y15ZR comes with single discs on both the wheels, while NVX155 gets single discs at the front and drum brakes at the rear. The former equips with a 4.2-litre fuel tank, while, NVX155 is provided with a 4.6-litre unit.

As for the pricing, Y15ZR Doxou comes with a price tag of RM 8,868, which does not include the road tax, insurance and registration. However, the bike maker has not revealed the price of NVX155 Doxou yet.
