TVS Apache 200 4V naked street and Neo X3i moped launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is one of the best-selling motorcycles in the 200 cc segment in its home country (India). Hoping that the Malaysian market will also show such a performance replica, Daju Motors has launched this naked street motorcycle in the country along with the Neo X3i underbone.

The TVS Neo X3i is powered by a 109.7 cc air-cooled engine which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 8.6 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.5 Nm at 4,500 rpm. The produced power is channelled to the wheel via a 4-speed gearbox, which is a semi-automatic unit.

The moped has its stopping power sourced from 220 mm disc with a two-piston calliper for the front wheel while the rear is equipped with a 110 mm drum unit. Telescopic forks are fitted at the front while the rear gets twin-shock absorbers.

Now getting to the bigger launch, the Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.7 cc oil-cooled engine that can churn out 21 PS of power at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.1 Nm, which comes at 7,000 rpm. A 5-speed gearbox handles the transmission duties.

The Apache gets its stopping power from disc brakes on both the wheels (270 mm front and 240 mm rear). However, ABS has not been offered in the motorcycle. It has a high seat height of 800 mm and is suspended over telescopic forks up front while a preload mono-shock is given at the rear.

Being a 200 cc motorcycle, the buyers will feel the lack of the sixth gear right at the time when the engine starts to redline the rpm mark. However, the presence of a slipper clutch means the shifting will be effortless and extremely smooth.

The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has been priced at RM 10,950 while the Neo X3i has been given a tag of RM 5,000.
