Royal Enfield releases 3 new custom bikes
KUALA LUMPUR: The seventh edition of Wheels and Waves custom bike show featured three new motorcycles based on its twin-cylinder platform. Continental GT 650 is used as a platform for the Lock Stock and Rohini motorcycle whereas the Interceptor is based on the predictable Interceptor 650 platform. The lock stock bike has been designed by Royal Enfield itself but the other 2 custom bikes are designed with the help of 2 custom bike manufacturers from Switzerland and United Kingdom.
Lock Stock
An LED ring housed within a carbon fibre front screen comprises of the front face of the motorcycle. The motorcycle was first showcased in the United Kingdom. The bike has 2 exhaust exits, one on each side. The front mudguard is strategically placed very close to the tyre but is longer than usual. The 865 cc engine uses the 650 cc motor and also features nitrous injection. The bike houses a single huge disc brake for the front tyre and a conventional disk brake for the rear tyre as well. One of the major updates to the bike is the six-spoke alloy wheels which increase the look and feel. The dragster bike is nothing less than a beast.
Rohini
The Rohini motorcycle has been designed in collaboration by Royal Enfield and the Young Guns Speed Shop, a Swiss custom bike maker. The paint on this bike takes inspiration from the Rohini Satellites. The motorcycle also has a retro touch with a bare aluminium frame. Reflective paint that dazzles the bike during night time is also used in some of the parts of this motorcycle. This is a pure cafe racer concept bike which is in the middle of retro and modern.
The Interceptor
This deep metallic red coloured bike is designed in collaboration with Old Empire Motorcycles. The bike also supports keyless ignition. The bike has a blacked out motor and lowered stance which makes it look even bolder. The best part of this modification is that no wires or cables are visible. The bike seems like an Interceptor 650 with many of its parts removed. The leather seat also adds to the overall beauty of the vehicle.
