New Harley Davidson Road Glide and Street Glide revealed; check what's new for 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Harley Davidson has revealed the all-new 2024 Road Glide and Street Glide motorcycles in the global market. For the model year 2024, the bikes receive a number of significant updates, making them more powerful, technologically advanced, and more comfortable than ever before.

To begin with, the 2024 Harley Davidson Road Glide and the Street Glide come with an upgraded version of the Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, now equipped with counterbalancing for enhanced refinement. Its cooling system has been revamped, and the intake and exhaust flow have been optimised to boost performance. The engine now generates a maximum power of 103 hp (17 hp more than the predecessor) at 4,600 rpm and a peak torque of 176 Nm at 3,250 rpm.

The engine comes mated to four riding modes – road, sport, rain, and custom, allowing riders to tailor the bike's performance to their preferences and riding conditions.

The upgraded Road Glide and Street Glide also get the new 12.3-inch TFT colour touchscreen, replacing the previous analogue instrumentation and the majority of switches. Operating on the Skyline OS, riders can access a full range of electronic rider aids through this massive screen. Furthermore, both motorcycles are equipped with lean-sensitive traction control and ABS, as well as a new 200-watt amplifier that powers a set of fairing-mounted speakers.

In terms of aesthetics, the motorcycles feature a revamped fairing and updated aerodynamics, resulting in a more comfortable ride with up to 60 percent less wind hitting the helmet. The seat has also been improved for extra comfort, especially on long trips.

Both the 2024 Harley Davidson Street Glide and Road Glide carry a starting price tag of $25,999 (approximately equal to RM 123196).
