New 2022 Honda RS150R now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: First introduced in 2016, the Honda RS150R is quite popular among new-age riders for its superior riding performance and sporty design. The Honda moped has received an update for 2022 that aims to give it a more competitive edge in the segment. 

The new Honda RS150R gets a new muffler for a more rugged and sporty appeal, along with the new colours featuring new stripe graphics. Boon Siew Honda now offers the moped in three shades - Vivacity Red, Pearl Nightfall Blue, and Radiate Grey Metallic.

Cosmetic tweaks aside, the 2022 Honda RS150R comes with an enhanced utility preposition as it is now equipped with a EURO4-compliant engine offering better output.

The 149.2-cc liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC engine now delivers a maximum power of 15.82 hp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.6 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The new output levels are slightly higher than the previous numbers. On the transmission front lies the same six-speed gearbox and manual clutch, with chain drive.

Honda also made some changes to the weight and seat height of the bike. It now weighs 119 kg (3 kg less), and the seat height is set at 786 mm (22 mm higher). These updates offer the riders an improved riding feeling, according to the automaker.

The continuing advanced features of the Honda RS150R are - 

• LED headlight for greater visibility
• Digital speedometer for a ton of information
• Rear Disk Brake for high braking confidence

The suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks at the front and preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.

With these changes on board, the 2022 Honda RS150R is priced at RM 8,299 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration).
