Near production, MV Agusta Lucky Explorer books 15,000 pre-orders

KUALA LUMPUR: MV Agusta has booked a total of 15,000 pre-orders for its upcoming, near-production motorcycle range, Lucky Explorer.

The news was confirmed by the company’s CEO, Timur Sardarov. Here’s an extract from the announcement, “We have already received pre-orders for 15 thousand units: in practice, two years of work. For all our models the market, in general, is receptive, we are seeing great interest from customers. And once the obstacles of the pandemic and the constraints on the supply chain have been overcome, we will be able to significantly raise our production levels.”

The MV Agusta Lucky Explorer range which is in a near-production stage includes two modes - the Lucky Explorer 9.5 and Lucky Explorer 5.5. Both the modes grabbed worldwide attention after featuring at the 2021 EICMA.

It won’t be wrong to say that the introduction of the Lucky Explorer range will diversify the company’s lineup. Also, the new addition showcases the brand’s strategic partnership with the Chinese manufacturer, Qianjiang Motorcycles.

A few details about the upcoming ADV range -

The Lucky Explorer 9.5 underpins the company’s new 950 platform. The 5.5 model, on the other hand, purely benefits from MV Agusta & QJ Motor partnership, as it gets the same engine as the Benelli TRK 502.

Both the Lucky Explorer models, the 5.5 and 9.5 will be manufactured in Varese, Italy. It is also being said that to make the bike affordable for the Asian market, Qianjiang will also manufacture and assemble the 5.5 range.

Speaking figuratively, Sardarov believes the company will manufacture more than 9000 units in 2022, i.e., almost double the production achieved in 2021.
