MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso to use auto clutch system

KUALA LUMPUR:  MV Agusta isn’t usually at the forefront of cutting-edge technology. Just back from the brink of bankruptcy, the MV Agusta team has been quietly churning out updates to its existing motorcycles. In comes the news now that the company is planning to launch its Turismo Veloce Lusso sports tourer with an auto clutch system.

MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso Front

Developed along with Rekluse (a North American firm), the new Veloce Lusso will be an automatic motorcycle. Much like the Honda Africa Twin then. However, while the Honda uses dual-clutch technology, Rekluse has fitted the Turismo Veloce Lusso with a Smart Clutch System (as they call it). There will be no clutch lever, however, one can row gears manually through the lever next to the left rider foot peg. Newbies will find the new Turismo Veloce Lusso now a tad easier to ride. They wouldn’t have to worry about the motorcycle getting stalled time and again in traffic too.

Rekluse has designed the system to have a bi-directional quick-shifter. What a quickshifter does is it eliminates the need for a rider to pull in the clutch to make shifts up or down. This way, the shifts are seemingly faster. With the quickshifter, there is no harm to the engine as well. MV Agusta will soon unveil the new Turismo Veloce Lusso and the SCS will be a 700 Euro option on this bike. Other changes to this bike will include an uprated power number from the current 110 PS. More electronic aids are likely to make their way to the updated motorcycle. One such feature will be the adaptive cruise control that judges whether the car ahead or motorcycle has stopped and accordingly lowers its speed.

Bike Part

It is likely that more and more of MV’s beautiful bikes will come with this SCS technology in the near future.
