MV Agusta launches Lewis Hamilton limited-edition of Brutale 800 RR
KUALA LUMPUR: In continuation to its association with the four-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, MV Agusta revealed the newest member in its lineup of the LH44 limited-edition motorcycles. It’s the Brutale 800 RR which has been released in a special Lewis Hamilton edition by the Italian motorcycle manufacturer. The MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR LH44, as it's called, has been developed by the Castiglioni Research Centre (CRC) while Lewis Hamilton has provided the design touches. Only 144 units of this specially designed naked streetfighter will be produced by the Italian bike maker.
The special edition is aesthetically modified while the mechanics have been left untouched. One can differentiate it from the standard Brutale 800 RR through the new graphics, colour scheme, and some special carbon-fibre and CNC-machined parts. The bike features a crimson red, black, and white colour scheme, with crimson red being the predominant colour. A small carbon-fibre screen above the headlight features Hamilton’s logo and his race number, 44.
The body panels, wheels, fork tubes, levers, fluid reservoir caps, fuel filler cap and engine oil cap, all flaunt the red shade, while the engine and exhaust are painted black. Tubes of the trellis frame are finished in white and the seat receives a dual red/black tone. According to MV Agusta, some never before components like specially designed carbon fibre components and a heat-resistant ceramic-based coating have been used to make this limited-edition Brutale 800 RR.
In terms of mechanics, the LH44 edition is no different than the standard Brutale 800 RR. It draws power from the same 798 cc, inline, three-cylinder engine that churns out a max power of 140 hp at 12,300 rpm and peak torque of 87 Nm at 10,100 rpm. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox which features a bi-directional quickshifter. Suspension duties are carried out by 43 mm Marzocchi fork upfront and Marzocchi upside-down telescopic hydraulic fork at the rear. Braking is handled by 320 mm dual disc at the front and 220 mm single disc at the rear. The Brutale 800 RR LH44 comes with eight-level traction control and switchable ABS for better control while driving.
If you wish to own this limited edition masterpiece, you better have a bottomless purse. The Brutale 800 RR LH44 starts at nearly RM112,500 which is almost RM37k dearer than the standard one.
