Moto Guzzi has revealed official pictures of the V85 TT
KUALA LUMPUR: Moto Guzzi has revealed the official images of the production model of its adventure bike, the V85 TT. The concept model of the bike was showcased at the Milan Motorcycle Show last year (EICMA 2017).
The V85 TT is an attempt to replace the Stelvio 1200, which failed to meet the Euro 4 emissions standards and has been cancelled. The production model of the V85 TT looks almost similar to the concept model, with some tweaks.
Much details about the engine and specs are not available, but if rumours are to be believed, a new 850cc unit will be provided, which would generate 79 bhp power.
One look at the bike and it is clear that it is meant for hardcore off-roading experience that V7 III and V9 fail to offer. At the front, it carries a dual-headlamp setup with a small windshield mounted over them. Handguards double up as mirrors. At the rear, a few joints are provided on the back of the subframe. The exhaust canister gets black paint and looks larger when compared to the concept version. Besides, a heat shield has been provided next to the passenger’s foot peg.
The fuel tank comes with the same size as showcased earlier, while the stripes of the paint are now diagonal and not horizontal. Twin disc brakes are featured in the front wheel and the brakes are clamped with four-piston Brembo calipers, which are mounted radically.
The fully-digital LCD instrument display is surrounded by a compass background. A smartphone symbol is present at the display which points to the Piaggio’s app. The app will help to show upcoming service schedules, indicating the nearest petrol station, locating the bike in a parking lot, and calling emergency contacts when needed.
Moreover, a word “PIOGGIA” and a rain symbol are also visible on the display. The meaning of Pioggia is ‘rain’ in Italian. This hints towards the availability of different riding modes in the bike.
