Malaysia gets two new Triumph bikes - Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X
KUALA LUMPUR: Triumph has expanded its lineup in Malaysia with the addition of two new models - Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X. The new models come under the brand’s T-Series banner and offer enthusiasts an affordable entry into the Triumph lifestyle, combined with exceptional value and performance.

The new Triumph bikes are powered by a 398-cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine, tuned to deliver 39.5 hp of power and 37.5 Nm of torque.The 2024 Triumph Speed 400 is priced at RM 26,900 while the 2024 Triumph Scrambler 400 X, retails at RM 29,900. In terms of mechanical setup, the new Triumph bikes are identical as they are equipped with the same 398-cc fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC engine. It kicks out a maximum power of 39.5 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Sending power to the rear wheels is a six-speed gearbox mated to the chain final drive system.
The Triumph Speed 400 and Triumph Scrambler 400 X also share other advanced features such as ride-by-wire throttle and traction control systems, which ensure precise and responsive performance on the road. Additionally, they come standard with Bosch dual-channel ABS, offering optimal braking performance in various conditions.
Both motorcycles are also kitted with all-around LED lighting with signature Triumph DRL and analog speedometer mated to an integrated LCD screen for displaying essential ride information.
While the new Triumph models share fundamental features, they also boast unique characteristics that cater to different riding preferences.
The Triumph Speed 400 is designed for urban agility, featuring a lightweight construction weighing just 170 kg, 17-inch wheels, and an accessible seat height of 790 mm. As for suspension, it gets 43 mm Big Piston upside-down forks at the front with 140 mm of travel, ensuring stability and comfort. The braking duties are handled by a 300 mm front disc clamped by a powerful 4-piston calliper, offering excellent stopping power.
In contrast, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is tailored for off-road adventures with a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel setup. It features extended suspension travel, including 43 mm Big Piston upside-down forks and a gas RSU mono-shock (preload adjustable) with 150 mm of travel, delivering enhanced capability on rugged terrain. The braking system comprises a larger 320 mm front brake disc with a four-piston calliper.
The Scrambler 400 X also comes with off-road specific features such as a larger steel brake pedal and high-grip footpegs for standing riding positions. Compared to the Speed 400, it is slightly heavier at 179 kg.
The all-new 2024 Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X models are now available at all authorised Triumph dealerships across the country.
