Limited-edition Vespa 946 Dragon scooter now in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The Italian luxury scooter brand Vespa unveiled the limited-edition 946 Dragon scooter at the Lunar New Year celebration event in Hong Kong this January. Dedicated to the Chinese New Year 2024, the Year of the Dragon, this latest Vespa model has now landed on Malaysian soil.

Didi Group showcased the all-new Vespa 946 Dragon during Italy's 78th National Day celebrations in Malaysia. It is now available at Motoplex showrooms in Petaling Jaya, Butterworth, Sungai Buloh, and Johor Bahru. 

To take the new Vespa 946 Dragon home, Malaysian customers need to shell out an amount of RM 103,888. Make note the availability is limited to just  1,888 units worldwide.

The key highlights of the Vespa 946 Dragon scooter are - 

• Hand-crafted in Italy, the scooter is based on the Vespa 946 model
• It is painted a light golden colour and boasts a vibrant emerald green dragon motif and striking decals. The handlebars, rims, and saddle feature luxurious finishes in gloss and satin gold.

• The stylish two-wheeler comes equipped with all-around LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, and 12-inch wheels.
• It underpins a metal-monocoque body incorporating aluminium components and a single leading-link shock suspension.
• The braking duties are handled by a 220 mm disc braking system complemented by ABS and traction control.
• At its core lies a 125-cc single-cylinder engine capable of generating a maximum power of 11.7 hp and a peak torque of 10.3 Nm.

With the scooter, Vespa also introduced its inaugural fashion item, the exclusive Dragon Varsity Jacket. It is also hand-crafted and features an iconic V monogram up front and an emerald green dragon motif, just like the scooter. The jacket is made out of Nappa leather and ribbed wool.
