Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R gets an update in Europe

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R is one of the best-selling Ninja ZX supersport across the world. As for 2024, this middleweight marvel gained a host of upgrades, including styling as well as performance. 

The 2024 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R boasts an all-new styling inspired by the Ninja ZX-10R while retaining its own distinct supersport identity. It gets a new intricately layered front cowl, a sporty windshield, and new LED headlights with turn signals.

 The dash is kitted with a new 4.3-inch TFT full-colour instrument cluster that supports smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology The App, Bluetooth, and three new integrated riding modes (Sport, Road, and Rain).

At the core of the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R lies an updated 636cc liquid-cooled in-line four-cylinder engine that meets Euro5 homologation standards. It also benefits from new cam profiles, new intake funnels, and a new head and collector pipe layout, all of these add to the bike’s low-rpm performance. The updated engine kicks out a maximum power of 130 bhp.

Built on the pressed-aluminium perimeter frame design, the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R also features new tyres and brakes -

• Tyres - Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres - 120/70ZR17 front and 180/55ZR17 rear
• Brakes - Dual 310 mm front discs with dual radial-mounted 4-piston monobloc callipers

Parts of the bike’s electronic equipment kit are -

• Kawasaki Quick Shifter
• Kawasaki Traction Control
• Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-lock Braking System 
• Power mode selection

As for the suspension, the updated bike is equipped with Showa SFF-BP (Separate Function Fork – Big Piston) fork, promising a smooth ride and handling.

Kawasaki offers the new Ninja ZX-6R in several exciting colour options - Metallic Flat Spark Black, Pearl Robotic White, Metallic Graphite Gray, and Lime Green. The price starts at GBP10,599 (approximately equal to RM 60k).
