Italian police gets all-dressed up MV Agusta

KUALA LUMPUR: Four MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS were handed over to the Milan Italian State Police. These bikes were dressed up and looked gorgeous in blue and white livery. If you think that’s all the good that can happen to the ‘Nibbio’ Motorcycle Unit of Milan’s police then you are wrong, as their fleet includes two Rivale and two MV Agusta Turismo Veloce.

The four MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SSC were handed over to ‘Quaestor’ Giuseppe Petronzi - Milan’s Police Commissioner by Timur Sardarov, MV Agusta chief executive officer. The hand over ceremony took place at the Milan police headquarters, the Questura.

On receiving the bikes Quaestor Giuseppe Petronzi said “The Nibbio Unit can now count on four new bikes for a better, more capillary patrolling of our streets. The Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS is particularly suited.” He further added “for police work in serving our citizens. I therefore thank MV Agusta for their generous attention towards the Police Force.“

In the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce line up that consists of four sports-touring motorcycles, the Lusso SCS sits second from the top. Priced at 20,900 euro (approx. RM 102,287), the Lusso SCS is powered by a 798 cc inline-three cylinder, 12V mill pumping out a maximum power of 110 hp at 10,150 rpm along with a peak torque of 80 Nm at 7,100 rpm.

Power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox that is equipped with the company’s Smart Clutch System 2.0 that reduces lever effort. The Lusso SSC gets a 21.5-litre fuel tank, has a top speed of 230 kmph, all giving it a on-paper range of 300 km.

What does the Milan police specific MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SSC benefit from? Apart from the attractive Polizia livery, the four motorcycles feature a police radio, siren, blinkers, and strobes.
