Indian Motorcycle launches the 2019 FTR 1200 Race Replica special edition

KUALA LUMPUR: Indian Motorcycle has launched a special edition 2019 Indian FTR 1200 Race Replica. It follows the successful run of the Indian Motorcycle FTR 1200 Flat Tracker launched last year. It gets the race replica paint, which, until now, was limited to the first year’s production of the FTR 1200 S. The two-wheeler also gets the slip-on Akrapovic exhaust as standard.

The Akrapovic exhaust gets matte black paint and is made of stainless steel and titanium. It comes with a heat shield made of carbon-fibre. The manufacturer claims that the exhaust helps to enhance FTR 1200 S Race Replica’s flat track styling so that it can deliver the soundtrack to match.

The FTR 1200 S can make a maximum power of 120 hp and a peak torque of 115.2 Nm, thanks to the presence of liquid-cooled, DOHC, eight-valve V-Twin engine. The fuel is injected from the 60 mm throttle body along with closed loop fuel injection. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission through a chain final drive and gear drive wet clutch.

The two-wheeler features a 12.9-litre fuel tank and comes with a seat height of 840 mm. Apart from the Race Replica paint, the motorcycle is available in two other color options, namely Titanium Metallic of Thunder Black Pearl and Red over Steel Grey.

The braking duties on the two-wheeler are done by 320 mm front discs, which is clamped by the four-piston callipers, while a single 265 mm disc having two-piston callipers are present on the rear wheel.

The starting price tag of the special edition 2019 Indian FTR 1200 Race Replica is around USD 15,499 (Approx. RM63,183) in the US.
