Husqvarna Vektorr e-scooter concept unveiled
KUALA LUMPUR: In the world of two-wheelers, electric mobility is the next big thing. Many automakers are working on e-bikes and e-scooters and one of them is Husqvarna, which has recently unveiled its new electric scooter concept called Vektorr. The Swedish bike maker unveiled a few images of the upcoming model that looks pretty close to production-ready.
In comparison to earlier rendered images, the concept looks quite different. The overall design of the scooter is minimalistic and proportionate, featuring clean lines and well-defined surfaces. It is outfitted with white, black, and fluorescent yellow livery and the Husqvarna logo on the body panel. The brand’s typical designing clues include a round LED headlight, straightly taken from the Svartpilen and Vitpilen models.
The Vektorr concept also has a long stepped single-seat, which may or may not be seen on the production model as it is likely to get some tweaks on the design front.
Under the metal skin, the Husqvarna Vektorr may be fitted with the same electric motor and battery pack that power the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter, the model on which it is based. The Chetak is powered by a 48V/6.3Ah battery pack that channels power to a 4-kW motor. The automaker says that the upcoming e-scooter can attain a top speed of 45 kmph while it can go 95 km on a single charge. Other than the engine setup, the two electric scooters will also share other components.
The suspension duties will be taken care of by single-sided front suspension, while on the braking front, there will be a single disc up on the front and a drum at the back.
"The Vektorr Concept is the first electric scooter ever produced by Husqvarna Motorcycles and is aimed squarely at the urban commuter who demands a compact, stylish and effective personal transport solution to fit their busy lifestyle. The Vektorr Concept is an eco-friendly model that brings the future of personal urban transport into the present,” says the automaker.
The launch of Husqvarna Vektorr is expected to happen next year in the Indian market where it will compete with the models like the Ather 450X and TVS iQube.
