Honda Stylo 160 scooter launched in Indonesia; Will it come to Malaysia?

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has expanded its 160cc scooter lineup with the addition of the all-new Stylo 160. As the name suggests, the new Honda scooter is all about style, fusing retro charm with the demands of today's young and contemporary buyers. Introduced initially in the Indonesian market, the model is likely to make its way to other Asian markets as well.

Design and features

The scooter dons a retro theme with an angular front face and flared side panels with simple and classic lines. It comes in attractive colour options including Royal Green, Royal Matte White, Royal Matte Black, Glam Black, Glam Red, and Glam Beige. The mirrors, seat cover, floorboard, and grip accents change according to the chosen body colour. The Stylo 160 rides on 12-inch wheels wrapped with chunky-looking tyres.

The equipment kit also includes - all-LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster, a USB socket for smartphone charging, and a keyless start system.

Engine

Powering the Honda Stylo 160 is a 156.9-cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power of 15 bhp and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm. The power is sent to the ground via a CVT automatic.

Suspension & braking

The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks in the front and a swingarm equipped with a mono-shock in the rear. The braking system consists of a 220 mm front disc and a 220 mm rear disc. The lower variant comes equipped with a 190 mm front disc and a drum brake in the rear. Both variants of the scooter come with an Anti-Lock Braking System and a Combi Braking System.

Price

The Honda Stylo 160 price begins at IDR 27,550,000 in Indonesia, which is approximately equal to RM 8424. 

Will the Honda Stylo 160 come to Malaysia?

Honda is likely to introduce the Stylo 160 in Malaysia as the demand for stylish and fuel-efficient two-wheelers is quite high in the country. If launched in Malaysia, the scooter will rival the likes of the Yamaha NVX 155.
