Honda SC e: electric scooter concept breaks cover in Japan

KUALA LUMPUR: At the ongoing 2023 Japan Mobility Show, the Honda booth has showcased diverse forms of current and future mobility options that the brand is actively exploring. Among them is the all-new SC e: Concept, an electric scooter concept designed for urban commutes.

The key highlights of the Honda SC e: electric scooter concept are as follows - 

• In terms of design, the new Honda two-wheeler concept looks unique with the full-width LED light bar and an illuminated Honda badge up front 
• The scooter is sprayed with a striking ivory-white shade complemented by contrasting blue highlights available on the front, handlebar, floorboard, and rear tail section

• It also sports a large, wide, single-piece seat with a full-sized grab handle and passenger footrests that can be neatly folded into the bodywork
• The Honda SC e rides on 12-inch wheels featuring a perforated disc design and offers all the driving-related information via a digital instrument console
• Under the seat of the new Honda EV lies two removable battery packs referred to as "Mobile Power Packs". The capacity of each pack is 1.3kWh

• While official details regarding the motor's power and range are currently unavailable, expectations suggest a potential range of around 100 kilometres and a peak speed ranging from 60 to 70 kmph
• The suspension setup of the scooter comprises telescopic forks at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear

While Honda has not yet announced its production plans for the new SC e electric scooter concept, we can anticipate its launch in global markets by the end of 2024.
