Honda introduces four new colours for Vario 125

KUALA LUMPUR: After the Vario 160, it’s the Vario 125 turn to get the colour upgrade in Malaysia. The more affordable Honda scooter is now offered in a vibrant colour palette comprising four options - Magenta, Black, Silver, and Red.

Boon Siew Honda Sdn. Bhd. retails the new Honda Vario 125 at RM 7,268 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration). The new model costs RM 188 more than its predecessor.

The design and specifications of the Vario 125 remain unchanged. It features a sharp styling with an aggressive headlight and tail light design. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels wrapped with 90/80 front tyre and 100/80 rear tyres.

Powering the Vario 125 comes is a 125-cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled single-cylinder, SOHC engine mated to an enhanced Smart Power (eSP) technology. The said mill kicks out a maximum power of 11.5 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 11.74 Nm at 5,000 rpm. It is a certified Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) offering exceptional fuel efficiency with outstanding performance. 

Touted as the perfect urban scooter, the Vario 125 comes packed with sophisticated modern features that are found in premium scooters. It includes - 

• Full LED lighting
• Fully digital instrument cluster
• Honda SMART key system with anti-theft alarm
• Answer Back system
• Parking brake lock
• ⁠Functional hook
• ⁠USB charger in the console box
• 18-litre under-seat storage compartment
• Idling stop system

The suspension duties are taken care of by conventional telescopic forks at the front and a single preload-adjustable shock absorber at the rear. As for braking, it gets a hydraulic disc at the front and a mechanical drum unit at the rear complemented by Honda’s combined braking system.

The new Vario 125 will be available at all IMPIAN X and authorised Honda dealers nationwide, starting from August 17, 2024.
