Honda CRF250 Rally on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only in November 2020 that Honda Malaysia revealed the 2021 CRF250 Rally, back then a few details about the bike was also released. For instance, Honda said that the CRF250L used an ‘Evolved On-Off Gear’ concept that intends to make daily and weekend riding fun and more convenient. The bike also became easier to handle both on- and off-road. Now, Honda has released full-details about the motorcycle, let’s check it out.

2021 Honda CRF250 Rally Engine

Powering the new CRF250 Rally is a 249 cc single-cylinder DOHC engine with a revised air filter, intake camshaft, and ignition timing. The said mill makes a maximum power of 24 PS at 9,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 23 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

The gearbox ratios have also been revised for enhanced cruising and acceleration. Gears one through five have been revised and the sixth gear has now been made taller to lower engine revs. The unit is now turned with an assist and slipper clutch that leads to 20% lower lever effort and it also prevents rear-wheel hop under hard deceleration.

2021 Honda CRF250 Rally Specs

For the model year 2021, CRF250 Rally gets a new frame that resulted in weight reduction - from 157 to 152 kg. The motorcycle now features a bigger fuel tank than before - from 10-litre t0 12.8-litre. It now keeps the rider 830 mm off the ground.

Furthermore, the bike’s handlebar and riding position has also been revised, placing the rider more upright with vibration reduction. The seat is wider than before bringing in more comfort to the rider. Rubber inserts are added to footpegs leading to a reduction in vibration.

Suspension duties are done by 43 mm SHOWA Upside-Down Forks at the front and rear SHOWA Monoshock Damper, Pro-Link Swingarm. Braking duties are assigned to the Hydraulic disc at both ends. ABS is present on both wheels.

2021 Honda CRF250 Rally Design

Honda has now incorporated the 2021 CRF250 with a redesigned headlight that offers better night visibility. The bike gets a larger LCD instrument cluster that now incorporates a fuel consumption meter and gear position indicator.
