Honda CB300R gets an update in the US

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has introduced the all-new CB300R in the US market. The latest version of the brand’s sport-naked machine benefits from new colour options while other specifications remain almost the same as earlier. The 2024 Honda CB300R retails for USD 5,149 (approximately equal to RM 24,038). 

The 2024 Honda CB300R key highlights are as follows -

• The new CB300R is offered in two new hues - Pearl Dusk Yellow with a bronze-finished upside-down fork and Metallic Black with a black USD fork

• The bike features a minimalistic design with a dual-bar LED front light signature and the thinnest LED tail light ever mounted on a Honda motorcycle
• It is kitted with a lightweight, full-function LCD instrument display that offers simple readouts for speed, engine rpm, fuel level and shift light
• The bike runs on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with Dunlop 110/70R-17 section front and 150/60R-17 section rear tyres.
• Powering the 2024 Honda CB300R is a 286-cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that kicks out a maximum power of 30.7 PS and a peak torque of 27.5 Nm
• The power is sent to the ground via a 6-speed transmission system with an assist and slipper clutch
• The suspension setup comprises USD forks at the front and a mono-shock at the rear
• As for the braking, it equips a 296 mm floating front brake rotor paired with a radial-mount Nissin four-piston calliper, and a 220 mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. Also, part of the kit is a two-channel ABS that modulates both front and rear braking
• The bike has a curb weight of just 143 kg, making it ideal for manoeuvring through urban streets 
• The wheelbase measures 53.3 inches while the seat height is set at 31.5 inches, which offers a commanding riding position

Here, in Malaysia, Honda does not offer the CB300R; however, a slightly down-sized version of it, the CB250R is present here at a price of RM 23,999. It is equipped with a 250 cc DOHC liquid-cooled, 4-stroke mill generating 27.5 PS and 23.4 Nm of torque.
