Honda ADV160 gets a new colour option in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Honda bikes in Malaysia, Boon Siew Honda, has updated the ADV160  for 2024. The latest iteration of the Japanese adventure scooter gains a new colour tone, which is Force Silver. It joins the existing colour palette of the model, including Vivacity Red and Mat Charcoal Grey Metallic.

The price of the Honda ADV160 price remains unchanged at RM 12,999 (excluding road tax, insurance and registration). Included in the price is a two-year or 20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects.

The equipment list of the scooter also remains the same as before, which includes a full LED lighting system on headlights, taillights and turn signals, a two-step adjustable windscreen, a USB charger in the console box,  30-litre under-seat storage, a 14-inch front wheel with 110/80 tyre and a 13-inch rear wheel with 130/70 tyre.

The scooter also features a multi-functional LCD metre panel for all essential driving-related information, an Idling Stop System to save fuel usage and a Honda Smart Key System that comes integrated with an anti-theft alarm and Answer Back System. Also part of the kit is a Honda Selectable Torque Control system, which detects rear wheel traction loss and reduces torque to allow tyre grip on the road. 

Powering the Honda ADV160 is a 156.9-cc eSP+ single-cylinder, 4-valve engine that delivers a maximum power of 15.82 hp at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 14.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox and a belt drive system.

As for suspension, it is kitted with non-adjustable telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers adjustable for spring preload at the rear. Handling the braking responsibilities are hydraulic discs on both ends complemented by front-wheel ABS as standard
