Electric racing motorcycle from Honda in making; check details
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda recently held a press conference wherein the company discussed Honda Racing Corporation’s plan for the upcoming 2023 season. Part of the discussion was both automotive and motorcycle racing series and teams.

The press conference held by Honda was mainly to discuss its 2023 racing plans and it will likely work on the development of electric racing units during the course of the year.Part of Honda's 2023 motor racing lineup were MotoGP, WorldSSP, and WorldSBK. In addition, the brand also revealed that it is developing an electric motorcycle for racing.
Honda’s Director and Senior Managing Executive officer, Shinji Aoyama on the matter said, “In the meantime, Honda has another critical mission to pursue in the area of motorsports. It is the realization of carbon neutrality. Honda has already been conducting research and development of technologies for carbon neutrality while proactively leveraging the field of motorsports. From now onward, we will further enhance our initiatives to put such technologies into practical use in our racing activities. Moreover, starting with motorcycles, we will explore possibilities of introducing electrified vehicles in actual races where we compete.”
Honda didn’t share any details on the developments which we believe isn’t surprising. As the press conference was mainly to discuss its 2023 racing plans and it will likely work on the development of electric racing units during the course of the year. Also, the electric racing machines won’t be participating in any race just yet.
For a company as big as Honda, there probably are multiple projects underway, all bubbling away in the background until ready for the spotlight. As for its upcoming electric racing machines, we are definitely looking forward to learning more about them.
