Ducati shows remarkable turnover and operating margin for fiscal year 2019
KUALA LUMPUR: Ducati gives a positive ending to 2019 with remarkable figures of turnover and operating margin. It has outperformed the consolidated growth from the past few years. Ducati managed to sell 53,183 motorcycles in 2019 as compared to 53,004 motorcycles that found new homes globally in 2018. The sales figures crossed the 50,000 mark for the fifth consecutive year and demonstrated a global growth of 1.4 percent in the above 500 cc segment.
Ducati Panigale and the Ducati Multistrada have proved to be the cornerstones of this significant economic output. The Panigale and Multistrada have played a significant role in achieving this result. The Panigale was the best-selling super sports bike in the world for the second consecutive year, with a market share of 25%, while the addition of the 950 S and the renewed 1260 Enduro to the lineage, witnessed a record-high value of motorcycles sold since 2003.
The turnover, at the end of 2019, reached RM 3407 million with the growth of 2.4% as compared to 2018, an operating profit of RM 247 million and an operating margin of 7.2%, against 7% achieved by the manufacturer last year.
However, much significant growth is noted in the turnover figure of bikes which touched about RM 64,239 per motorcycle representing the highest value ever in the history of the company.
Such sale trends clearly indicate the evolutionary range of products offered by Ducati. It also abides by the foundation values of the brand which include “Style, Sophistication, Performance, Trust”. Ducati products also form part of the highest and premium segment of the market.
Ducati Motor Holding has total of 1,655 employees as on today. The sales network of the manufacturer has 720 dealers and service centres across 90 countries worldwide.
With the recent outbreak of coronavirus pandemic, Ducati has shut production at Borgo Panigale, but the company has announced that support for all customers will continue through the after-sale service network.
