KUALA LUMPUR: Ducati bikes are not just about riding, they are about making a statement. And the testimony to that is the all-new Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono that recently made its way to Malaysia in two striking versions - standard and RVE.

    Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono

    The new Ducati model is a single-cylinder fun bike powered by a 659-cc Superquadro Mono engine churning out a maximum power of 77.5 hp at 9,750 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm at 8,000 rpm. The engine boasts desmodromic valve actuation, making it the “most sophisticated and high-performance single-cylinder road engine ever built.” It can achieve the highest engine speed in its category. The power is sent to the wheel via a 6-speed gearbox mated to a final chain drive system.

    Built on a robust tubular steel Trellis frame, the Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono comes with a 45 mm Marzocchi fully adjustable aluminium fork at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. The rear suspension is supported by an aluminium double-sided swingarm, enhancing both stability and handling.

    The bike rides on 17-inch Y-shaped 5-spoke light alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubbers. As for braking, it incorporates a 330 mm front disc with a Brembo calliper and Bosch Cornering ABS. The rear has a 245 mm disc with a single-piston calliper and Bosch Cornering ABS.

    New Ducati outlet opens in Johor Bahru

    The launch of the new Ducati model coincides with the opening of its latest dealership in Johor Bahru. It expands the brand’s footprint in the southern region of Peninsular Malaysia. With an investment of RM 3.5 million, the new outlet spans 2,418 sq ft. displaying a total of 16 Ducati motorcycles simultaneously. 

    The new Ducati outlet also houses a dedicated space for Ducati Apparel and Accessories, a separate section for Scrambler Ducati, and a social lounge. The service centre is equipped with four service bays that can serve up to 200 bikes per month. 

    The new Ducati dealership is located at No.9 Jalan Permas 9/17, Masai Johor.
