KUALA LUMPUR: Ducati first launched the all-new Monster SP globally in January 2023 and now the motorcycle has finally made its way into the Malaysian market.

    Design

    In terms of looks, the Monster SP showcases a distinct sight compared to the standard model. For instance, it gets a red saddle integrated with the tail, a Monster SP logo on the passenger seat cover, and a Ducati logo on the fuel tank.

    Braking and Handling

    Ducati’s entry-level naked sports bike features improved handling thanks to adjustable Ohlins front forks and Brembo front brake calipers which replace the base models' non-adjustable KYB upside-forks and Brembo M4.32 Monobloc calipers. Also, part of the setup is an Ohlins upside-down forks are in 43 mm diameter, gold-anodized, upside-down, and fully adjustable.

    Taking care of the stopping duties are Brembo Stylema calipers, clamping 320 mm discs on aluminum flanges.

For instance - the Ohlins upside-down forks weigh 0.6 kg less than the standard, Brembo Stylema calipers further save 0.5 kg over stock, and the lithium-ion battery further reduces weight by 2kg.

    Overall the Monster SP weighs 184.9 kg compared to the 188 kg standard Monster.
