Curtiss Motorcycles unveils three new electric bikes
KUALA LUMPUR: Curtiss Motorcycles is back with three new e-bikes - Zeus Bobber, Zeus Cafe Racer and retro-styled Hera. The bikes have been named after the Greek god of women and the queen of Mount Olympus.
After rebranding and leaving behind Confederate Motorcycles in 2018, Curtiss Motorcycles has stopped the production of internal combustion engine motorcycles. The last internal combustion engine motorcycle by the manufacturer was Curtiss Warhawk.
Pricing of the Zeus starts around $60,000 (roughly RM 2,48,394), whereas the price of the Hera has not been declared yet.
The styling of the bikes follows the flat tracker style with a flat seat. The battery pack is placed where the conventional internal combustion engine used to seat. The power in these bikes is generated by an electric motor which has been mounted under the seat. The Zeus produces 193 PS of power and 195 Nm of peak torque. The motorcycle provides with a travelling range of 450 km on a single charge.
The bikes use a drive belt to power the rear solid disc wheel. The front suspension is a girder fork assembly that can be adjusted according to the need of the rider and at the back, there is a mono shock. The Chassis is made out of 6061-T6 aluminium which is covered by a carbon-fibre body.
The braking power comes from the Beringer 4D four-piston callipers clamping 230 mm floating cast iron disc at the front. The rear brake uses a single Beringer Aerotec calliper. The Zeus weighs 215 kg and the seat height is 724 nm. The wheelbase of the bike is 1562 mm. Zeus will be made available in two colour options - Raw Billet Aluminum and Anodized Black.
