China gets the new Honda U-GO electric scooter
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has introduced its new electric scooter in the Chinese market, the 2021 U-GO. Now, China already has several electric scooters but with brand’s like Honda entering the arena, things are really gonna get interesting.
In China, the 2021 Honda U-GO is offered in two variants (based on the government top speed and motor power) - the 800 W U-GO and 1.2 kW U-GO. The former packs a 1.2 kW power rating and offers a maximum speed of 43 kmph. The latter option, on the other hand, gets a peak power of 1.8 kW and a top speed of 53 kmph.
Both the U-GO e-scooter get identical battery capacity - a 48 Volt pack rated at 30 Ah. While there is no option for a double battery pack, the unit is easily swappable.
2021 Honda U-GO e-scooter other inclusions are -
- A 12-litre under-seat storage
- A basic LCD instrument panel with usual dashboard lights
Price
The 800 W U-GO trim is priced at 7,499 yuan (approx. RM 4,893), while the range-topping 1.2 kW U-GO model retails for 7,999 yuan (approx RM 5,220).
