Check out the locally available 2021 Benelli R18i supercub

KUALA LUMPUR: Benelli Malaysia has introduced a new supercub in its lineup, the all-new 2021 R18i in two trim options - Standard and Special Edition. The former is priced at RM 7,999 and is available in two colour choices - red and black, both giving the R18i a strong aggressive look. The special edition model, on the other hand, can be yours from RM 8,299 and is available in a single hue, i.e., blue with green wheels. Note the prices mentioned above do not include registration, road tax, and insurance. However, it does cover a 2-year/20,000 km warranty against manufacturing defects.

The R18i is inspired by the long-time running Benelli RFS150i, however, the two differ in several departments like engine, lighting, and the front cowl design.

2021 Benelli R18i standard feature/specs includes -

• Projector-beam headlight
• LED daytime running lights
• LED tail lamp
• Fully digital instrument panel
• 17-inch wheels wrapped in 80/80 and 120/70 tyre at front & back
• 4.8-litre fuel tank
• 787 mm seat height
• 128 kg weight

The instrument cluster comes with a monochrome display that provides the rider with all the necessary information like the battery level, speed, and gear. It also includes two odometers, a clock, a tachometer, and a fuel gauge.

Coming to the RM300 pricer R18i Special Edition model, it gets a few additional gears like clutch levers and span adjustable brakes.

The 2021 Benelli R18i sources its power from a 174-cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine making a maximum power of 18 hp at 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 15.1 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a six-speed gearbox with a chain final drive.

On the suspension front are non-adjustable upside-down forks, Kayaba monoshock adjustable for preload. Braking duties are taken care of by 240 mm single discs at the front and 220 mm at the rear.
