Check out the 2019 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition; limited to 765 units
KUALA LUMPUR: For a while now, we have been hearing rumours about a full-fairing version of the Triumph 765 but with the launch of 2019 Triumph Moto2 765 Limited Edition, all that came to a rest. According to reports, the production of this limited-edition bike is limited to 765 units worldwide. Also, it is to be noted that Triumph is the engine supplier in the Moto2 world championship.
Powering the 2019 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 is the same inline-triple unit found under the Triumph 765 naked sports. This mill produces a maximum power of 128 hp at 12,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 80 Nm at 9,750 rpm (in the 765, this mill churns 121 hp and 77 Nm). The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed transmission with up-and-down quick-shifter. Dorna Sports, the organisers of the MotoGP championship are also the official licensers of the motorcycle.
The internal components of the 2019 Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition have been derived from the Triumph Moto2 mill. Included in the list are MotoGP™-spec DLC coated gudgeon pins, titanium inlet valves, new intake trumpets, stronger pistons, new cam profiles, crank and barrels, an increased compression ratio – 12.9:1 from 12.6:1, modified con rods, and intake port.
Since the Daytona 765 is a race-derived machine, it comes with a carbon-fiber-fairing, and a single-piece cockpit painted in a combination of Aluminium Silver, Carbon Black, and Graphite Grey. The cabon-fibre is used on the race-spec lower chain guard, front mudguard, upper chain guard, hugger, and rear unit.
Triumph has not released any information regarding the bike’s weight, the standard model, however, has a dry weight of 166 kg. Weight is expected to be saved thanks to the use of clear anodised finish instead of powder coating. Front wheels get Brembo Stylma brake calipers and the suspension is taken care of by 43 mm diameter NIX30 front forks and TTX36 rear units.
The bike comes with five ride modes - Track, Rain, Sport, Configurable, Rider, and Road. Also, included in the package is a lap timer, full-color TFT-LCD screen, and a machined billet aluminium top yoke.
