Check out Kymco’s new luxury maxi-scooter, the AK Premium

KUALA LUMPUR: Kymco, the popular Taiwanese scooter manufacturer, has introduced a new luxury maxi scooter. Called the AK Premium, it is the flagship version of the standard AK550 scooter.

With the all-new Kymco AK Premium, the company is targeting buyers looking for a stylish, comfortable, and powerful scooter that is good for both city and long-distance commutes.

Let us get to know the new Kymco AK Premium in detail -

Engine: Powering the all-new AK Premium is a 550cc twin-cylinder mill generating a maximum power of 51 hp at 7,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 52 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Transmission: The ride is sent to the wheels via a continuously variable gearbox along with throttle-by-wire technology. Together offering enhanced acceleration and engine control.

Braking and Suspension: The AK Premium features Brembo Callipers, an upside-down fork, and a 270 mm front and 260 mm rear disc.

Mechanical bits: The AK Premium scooter comes equipped with several mechanical bits that help the rider enhance the vehicle's performance. Part of the list is customizable riding modes, traction control, and cruise control. Also part of the package AIBS Cornering Technology with cornering ABS.

Other inclusions:

• Aggressive LEDs
• 14.5L fuel tank
• 15-inch wheels front and rear shod with 120/70 and 160/60 tyres respectively

Price

Currently on sale in the European market, the heavyweight challenger in its class (238 kg), the AK Premium retails for EUR 10,999 (around RM53k).
