All-new 2021 Triumph Trident launched in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Triumph Malaysia gives the motorcycle enthusiast and prospective buyers a new reason to smile. Its lineup now includes the all-new 2021 Trident 660.
The new middleweight naked sports bike is priced at RM 43,900 (excludes: registration, road tax, and insurance). The Trident 660's stock is expected to arrive in the authorised showrooms by 20th Feb.
In Malaysia, 2021 Trident is offered in four attractive hues - two standard and two premium that costs an additional RM 1000. The former includes solid shades of Crystal White and Sapphire Black. The latter includes Stealthy Matte Black/ Matte Silver Ice or Silver/Diablo Red options.
Triumph has given the new Trident a sharp and edgy design that will surely attract a lot of eyes. Weighing at just 189 kg, the Trident's 805 mm seat height makes the middleweight naked sports bike perfect for short riders.
Also, part of the 2021 Triumph Trident specs list is -
- One-piece seat
- Round instrument panel
- LED lighting all around
- TFT-LCD screen with white on black readout
Powering the 2021 Trident 660 is a liquid-cooled, inline-triple with 12V & DOHC mill pumping out a maximum power of 80 hp at 10,250 rpm and a peak torque of 64 Nm at 6,250 rpm. Sending power to the wheels is a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The machine delivers most of the torque across 90% of the rev range, making the motorcycle easy to ride by all riders.
Helping the bike stop is Nissan's two-piston callipers clamping twin 310 mm disc at the front and Nissan's single-piston calliper with a single 255 mm disc at the rear. On the suspension front, it gets front upside-down forks with separate functions in each fork leg and rear Showa monoshock with adjustable preload damping.
Furthermore, the Trident comes with two riding modes - Road and Rain with a ride-by-wire throttle and switchable traction control. Two-channel ABS comes standard.
In Malaysia, it will rival the likes of Yamaha MT-07, Kawasaki Z650 ABS, and Honda CB650R. So, what are your thoughts on the new Trident 660?
