2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE launched In Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: It's a moment of rejoicing for Suzuki fans across Malaysia as the much-awaited 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE (DE stands for Dual Explorer) has finally arrived in the country. The new adventure-touring machine is the latest addition to the brand’s renowned V-Strom range. It brings impressive specifications and lots of advanced features to the table.

The 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE price tag reads RM 60,800. Make note this is an introductory price and is valid for the first 50 bookings. 

The new Suzuki bike is powered by a new 776cc parallel-twin platform (with a 270-degree crankshaft) developed in Hamamatsu, Japan. The new liquid-cooled, DOHC unit kicks out an impressive power of 84.3 PS at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 78 Nm at 6,800 rpm. 

Sending power to the ground is a six-speed transmission paired with Suzuki Clutch Assist System and chain final drive. The fuel consumption of the bike is rated at 22.7 kmpl.

The bike comes with three on-road traction control modes - Active (A), Basic (B), Comfort (C), and an off-road Gravel mode which retards ignition timing and allows a limited amount of tire slip when riding on unpaved surfaces. Complementing these ride modes is the Suzuki Traction Control System, which prevents the rear wheel from slipping.

Also part of the hi-tech pack is - Two-mode Anti-lock Brake System, Rear ABS Cancel Mode, Low RPM Assist, and Suzuki Easy Start System.

The 2023 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE features a purposefully electrical design with a vertically stacked pair of distinctive hexagonal LED headlights. It is also equipped with a compact LED position light, LED turn signals, and an LED tail light. Offering the rider complete driving information is a custom 5-inch colour TFT LCD multifunction instrument panel.
