2022 Modenas Karisma 125S launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Watch out, Yamaha Ego Gear, Honda BeAT, and WMoto ES125, the all-new 2022 Modenas Karisma 125S has finally arrived in Malaysia. This new entry-level scooter from the house of Malaysia-born automaker is priced at RM 5,397 (excluding road tax, insurance, and registration) and is now available in three attractive colour shades - Aqua Blue, Mystic Red, and Duchess Gold.

Modenas Karisma 125S engine specs

At the core of the new Modenas Karisma 125S lies a 124.8 cc Euro 4 compliant, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine fed by EFI. The engine pumps out a maximum power output of 9.38 hp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It is mated to an automatic gearbox and belt final drive.

Modenas Karisma 125S features

Modenas has packed its new scooter with many smart bits that add to the rider’s comfort and convenience. The list includes dual LED headlights with DRL, LED turn signals, stylish LED rear brake light, a USB charging socket, analogue instrument panel with digital fuel metre, a 5.1-litre fuel tank, and hazard lights.

Also part of the kit is an under-seat 14-litre storage compartment that can be operated by a remote switch mounted adjacent to the ignition lock. The scooter rolls on 14-inches wheels wrapped with 80/90 front and 90/90 rear tyres.

Modenas Karisma 125S suspension & braking 

As for suspension, the Karisma 125S is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and a single shock absorber at the rear, that adjusts as per the spring preload. Helping the scooter stop is a single front hydraulic disc and a rear mechanical drum brake.
