KUALA LUMPUR: After making its first appearance as a concept model at the 2019 EICMA show, the Husqvarna Norden 901 made its global debut last year. And finally, after a long wait, this Swedish motorcycle has just landed on the Malaysian shores. It highlights the brand’s trail segment and is touted as a highly versatile machine that is perfect for off-road adventures as well as daily commutes.

The Husqvarna Norden 901 price in Malaysia starts at RM 98,800 (without road tax, insurance, and registration). Included in the price is a two-year unlimited mileage warranty against manufacturing defects.
Powering Husqvarna’s adventure bike is an 899-cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, eight-valve, parallel-twin mill borrowed from the KTM 890 Adventure as the two motorcycles share the same underpinnings.
The engine pumps out a power output of 105 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 100 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Shifting duties are managed by a six-speed gearbox with chain final drive. It features a PASC slipper clutch, which reduces lever effort and prevents wheel hop.
In terms of electronic aids, it comes packed with traction control and three riding modes (Rain, Street, and Off-Road) as standard. An optional ‘Explorer mode’ can be opted that will let you explore the world. The automaker also offers a cornering ABS feature to the riders with off-road mode.
Design-wise, the Norden 901 looks much different from its Austrian cousin. It features a more extensive body panel that not only offers a more prominent look but also makes it a proper dual-purpose bike for long-distance touring. The key highlights include -

The braking duties are taken care of by twin four-piston callipers 320 mm front discs and a two-piston calliper 260 mm rear disc.
