2021 MV Agusta Rush 1000 limited-edition breaks cover
KUALA LUMPUR: When it comes to exotic bikes, the MV Agusta is one such automaker that draws our attention. The Italian brand is currently in the headlines for its new limited edition luxury bike, labeled as the Rush 1000. Based on the all-new Brutale 1000 RR, this special naked motorcycle is loaded with a number of exclusive features enhancing its look and feel. And as we said it is a limited edition, which means the automaker will roll out only 300 units of it.
In terms of design, the outlandish naked looks distinct, however some of the features like a muscular tank, under-seat exhausts, and an integrated tail-lamp screams MV Agusta. Upfront, it carries a round LED headlight with intricately designed internals that lends it a retro look. Further accentuating its design language is carbon fibre finish with yellow highlights here and there. Also on offer is a matching AGV Pista GP helmet.
The new Rush 1000 has an aggressive riding stance also, thanks to the clip-on bars, a tall seat height of 845 mm, and pretty rear-set footpegs. While this sort of stance is usually seen on the track-oriented sportbike, it does feel extreme on a naked.
In the cockpit, a full-colour 5.5-inch TFT-LCD screen is placed for displaying all the necessary information to the rider. It also has Bluetooth for smartphone connectivity, GPS functionality, and integrated navigation on-screen.
On the mechanical front, this elegant MV Agusta gets a beautiful machine that is a 988-cc Euro 5 compliant liquid-cooled, inline-four engine. It generates a whooping power of 208 hp at 13,000 rpm and 116.5 Nm of peak torque at 11,000 rpm. As for the transmission, there is a six-speed gearbox with an electronic up-and-down quick-shifter. Engine internals include a lighter crankshaft, a new combustion chamber, and a radial valve arrangement in titanium connecting rods.
The 2021 Rush 1000 also has a best hardware combination that comprises Ohlins’s electronically adjustable suspension setup, Brembo Stylema brakes with cornering ABS, and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa tyres. Included in the electronic rider aids are traction control with eight settings, torque control with four, and wheelie control.
In the European market, the 2021 MV Agusta Rush 1000 limited-edition is priced at €38,000 (RM 192,433).
