2021 KTM Duke 200 launched in Malaysia, check price and specs here

KUALA LUMPUR: When it comes to performance bikes, the KTM Duke 200 is a renowned name in the 200-cc segment. The muscular-looking machine with loads of power recently received an update in the Malay market that includes an array of visual and mechanical changes. So, without further ado, let’s get into the details of the new KTM in town.

Design-wise, the all-new Duke 200 finally gets the highly-awaited next-gen “Duke” design. The halogen headlamp with integrated LED DRLs imparts an aggressive front fascia to the bike. Also new is an LCD instrument panel for the display of all important information.

On the side, the look is enhanced by a split seat pattern, belly pan, and sharp fuel tank, which not only looks good but is also larger now. Compared to the predecessor model, it can hold 2.4 litres of extra fuel with a total capacity of 13.4 litres. The rear end of the bike is decked with a stylish LED tail light. Overall, the naked streetfighter now looks more aggressive and modern just like its elder siblings.

Powering the 2021 KTM Duke 200 is the same 199.5-cc Euro 5 compliant engine that incorporates 4 valves and a DOHC unit. The liquid-cooled motor is capable of generating a maximum power of 26 hp at 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 19.5 Nm at 8000 rpm. For the transmission, the engine has a six-speed gearbox paired with a chain final drive.

Underneath, the new Duke 200 is built on a lightweight bolt-on steel subframe that ensures precise handling. As for suspension, it has WP forks at the front and WP mono-shock at the back. Braking duties are taken care of by a 300 mm disc and ByBre 4-piston brake caliper on the front while on the back, there is a 230 mm disc along with a single-piston brake caliper. On top of that, a single-channel BOSCH ABS is included as standard equipment.

The 2021 KTM 200 Duke price in Malaysia starts at RM 12,888 excluding road tax, insurance, and registration. The colour palette includes two shades - White and Orange.
