2021 Kawasaki Z900 SE launched in the UK
KUALA LUMPUR: Kawasaki pulled the wraps off the all-new Z900 SE, the top-spec variant of the Z900 lineup, in the UK. The new version is fitted with more sophisticated underpinnings over the standard trim already available in the market. Let’s discuss their differences in detail.
The 2021 Kawasaki Z900 SE benefits from a new suspension setup and better brakes. The former comprises a fully adjustable golden-colour USD fork at the front and an adjustable Ohlins S46 gas-charged shock at the rear. In comparison, the standard unit has a rebound and preload-adjustable front unit along with a rear mono-shock. The higher-spec suspension ensures more ride comfort and a better sense of grip and handling.
Kawasaki added a Brembo setup to the kit for improved braking prowess. It includes twin 300 mm front discs and radially mounted Brembo M4.32 callipers, which are mated to a Nissin radial-pump master cylinder and stainless-steel braided stripes to offer greater stopping power
Besides these, the rider aids and other features of the vehicle remain similar to the standard trim. These include traction control, multiple power modes with a slipper clutch, ant-lock braking system, and a TFT dash with smartphone integration functionality via the Kawasaki Rideology app. Its seat height measures 795 mm.
Powering the Kawasaki Z900 SE is a 948-cc inline four-cylinder engine that generates a maximum power output of 123 bhp and a peak torque of 98.6 Nm. The power is channelled to the wheels via a 6-speed gearbox. The wheels are wrapped with 120/70 ZR17 front and 180/55 ZR17 rear tyres.
The 2021 Kawasaki Z900 SE is priced at GBP 10,749 (approximately equal to RM 61,544). For reference, the standard model is priced at RM 46,380 in the local market.
