2021 Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE launched in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: It was in 2019 when we first got a glimpse of the Hypermotard 950 RVE in the form of a concept. It was displayed in Italy at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este and grabbed the award in the 'Concept Bikes: New Design and Prototypes by Manufacturers and Independents’ category. Now, it is here amongst us in the production version - 2021 Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE.
The Hypermotard 950 RVE is priced at RM 80,900 (excluding registration, insurance, and road tax) and is powered by a 937 cc Testastretta 11 V-twin mill. The said unit pumps out a maximum power of 114 hp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 98 Nm at 3,000 rpm.
The Hypermotard 950 RVE shares its underpinning with the Hypermotard 950 and rests between the base 950 and range-topping 950 SP model. What sets it apart from the two siblings is the special 'Graffiti' graphics with ultra-thin decals, giving the design an 'airbrushed finish'. Further, over and above the base model, the 950 RVE benefits from two-tone wheels, up-and-down quick-shifter. It also gets several electronic riding aids, like cornering ABS with a slide, wheelie control, three ride modes, and traction control.
As for its suspension and braking, the former is taken care of by fully-adjustable Marzocchi 45 mm diameter upside-down front forks and damping Sachs rear monoshock. Brembo guards the braking front with front radial-mount twin four-piston callipers with 320 mm floating brake disc.
