KUALA LUMPUR: Firstly launched in 2018, the Brixton BX 150 bike now received an update in the Malaysian market. MForce, the official distributor of Brixton Motorcycles in the country, recently announced the specifications and prices of the new version. Let’s get into the details.
The bike comes in three trims viz. Standard BX 150, a scrambler type BX 150X and a café racer BX 150R. All are powered by the same 149-cc, four-stroke, SOHC engine that kicks out a maximum power output of 11 hp at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 11.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. A five-speed transmission is coupled with the motor to send power to the ground.
As for suspension, all models carry a telescopic fork on the front and two shock absorbers on the rear. The braking duties are taken care of by a single hydraulic disc front and rear. The Combined Braking System (CBS) for front and rear brakes is also part of the safety kit.
Moving to the styling, where the three BX 150 versions are different from each other. First, on the list, the BX 150 standard model features a classic and luxurious design. The retro roadster has a flat and wide brown seat along with the right dimensions that makes riding easy and comfortable. Upfront, there is a round headlamp framed in a round black case and an easy-to-understand analogue meter on the cockpit combined with a digital speedometer. The fuel tank measures 14-litre. Colour choices include Black and Dark green.
The BX 150X differentiates itself from the base model with a scrambler type design, a black flat seat, braced handlebar, and block pattern tyres. As for color options, Matte Black and Matte Grey are on the list. The BX 150R, on the other hand, boasts a café racer stance with low set handlebars, clubman seat, and classic pattern tyres. Chrome bar-end mirrors are also part of the kit. The colour palette has two choices - Red and Grey.
The 2021 Brixton BX 150 price for the standard trim starts at RM 10,488. The BX 150X scrambler retails for RM 10,788 while for the BX 150R, customers need to pay RM 11,088. Included in the price are a two-year manufacturer's warranty or 20,000 km (whichever comes first) and a genuine online parts purchase service by MForce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd.
