2020 Honda Wave Alpha launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda’s official manufacturer and distributor in Malaysia, Boon Siew Honda, has updated the Wave Alpha for the year 2020.

The bike gets new graphical touches, and the front cowl has also been redesigned. It comes with two different variants - spoked wheel model and cast wheel model.

2020 Honda Wave Alpha comes with a brand-new front cover design that includes front signal housing. It helps to make the styling and aerodynamics better. Apart from the sharp-yet-sporty design attributes,

the bike gets a new stripe that makes the looks more appealing. Furthermore, there is a rubber wrapped rear handle grip to increase the pillion rider comfort. However, it is available only in the cast wheel variant.

2020 Honda Wave Alpha specs sheet tells it is available with three colour options - Vivacity Red, Clipper Yellow and Pearl Nightfall Blue.

The bike is equipped with a 109.1 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, which can make a maximum power of 8.3 hp coming at 7,500 rpm, while the peak torque 8.59 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheels via a four-speed gearbox. The bike comes with a 3.7-litre fuel tank. It can be had with either kick or electric starting.

Suspension wise, the 2020 Honda Wave Alpha has telescopic forks at the front, while the twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers are present at the back.

The Wave Alpha spoke wheel model gets drum brakes on both the wheels. On the other hand, the cast wheel variant gets a single hydraulic disc unit at the front, and the rear wheel features drum brake.

• 2020 Wave Alpha spoked wheel -  RM 4,339
• 2020 Wave Alpha cast wheel - RM 4,589

Note both the new Wave Alpha variants will hit to the Boon Siew Honda dealers from next week.
