2019 Suzuki Katana reaches Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: Suzuki Malaysia has posted on its official Facebook page that 2019 Katana has arrived in the country. However, the bike-maker has refrained from revealing the price and also didn't announced when the same will be unveiled.
A few weeks ago, the 2019 Suzuki Katana was launched in the UK market with a price tag of £11,399 which is equivalent to RM 61,741.80. However, the Malaysian-spec model may come with a bit higher price tag, which is around RM 85,000 as per the rumours.
In the UK market, the new Suzuki Katana has a lot of styling cues similar to the older model. This is reflected by a chiselled nose and a squared headlamp. Moreover, it also gets the Y-spoke cast rims, muscular tank, and a short tail. A new color scheme is added to its lineup as a black paint job. The 2019 Katana also gets a digital instrument panel that provides necessary information and details.
The motorcycle arms a 999 cc transverse-four engine, which is capable of the churning out a maximum power of 148 bhp coming at 10,000 rpm. While the peak torque is 108 Nm, which comes at 9,500 rpm. The power is sent to the wheel via a six-speed gearbox assisted by a slipper clutch.
The UK-spec 2019 Suzuki Katana features ABS enabled Brembos that perform the stopping duties and also has a three-level switchable traction control unit. The manufacturer also provides an accessory pack named as the Samurai Accessory Pack, which costs around £999 (RM 5,391) The pack comes with a carbon effect mudguard, flyscreen, tank pad, red fairing, engine covers and seat detailing.
