2019 Benelli Leoncino 250, TRK251, and 502C displayed at KLIMS 2018
KUALA LUMPUR: The excitement at the ongoing 2018 KLIMS (Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show) is still on. And the recent introduction to hit the minds of the automobile enthusiasts has come from Benelli. The company has displayed three new bikes - 502C cruiser, Leoncino 250 naked, and the TRK251 adventure - at the show. These models are slated for a mid-2019 launch.
All the new models are the younger siblings to the bigger models in the lineup, barring the Benelli 502C. It bears close resemblance with the XDiavel from Ducati. It is driven by a 500 cc two-cylinder engine that can thrust out a maximum power of 47.6 hp and a peak torque of 45 Nm. A 6-speed gearbox handles the transmission. Dual channel ABS is offered too, where the front wheel gets two disc brakes.
Second on the list is the Benelli TRK251, which is essentially the younger brother of the TRK502. The toned down 249 cc single-pot engine is capable of churning out a maximum power of 26.8 hp at a whopping 10,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 21 Nm at 9,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox does the transmission duties. The adventure bike has 17-inch wheels at both ends while having a high ground clearance of 200 mm.
The new Benelli Leoncino 250 is the toned down version of the bigger Leoncino 500 and looks like a scrambler-cum-naked motorcycle. It has disc brakes at both ends and features ABS too. Under the hood, it uses the same high revving 249 cc engine from the TRK. Hence, the power output remains the same at 26.8 hp while the torque reads at 21 Nm. Power is channelled to the wheel via a 6-speed gearbox unit.
Aesthetically, it gets an attractively contoured stepped-seat and tall handlebars. It is built on the trellis frame, which is known for its fantastic handling prowess.
Though we know that the three motorcycles would arrive in 2019, the pricing is not known yet.
