2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 specs leaked
KUALA LUMPUR: A presentation containing technical specifications of the India-bound 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 has been leaked online, thus, giving away details of the upcoming model. The new Dominar 400 has already been officially teased and some dealers have also accepting unofficial pre-bookings. The bike is expected to go on sale from March this year.
The new Bajaj Dominar gets a 373.27 cc single cylinder liquid-cooled engine which is tuned to make a maximum power of 39.9 PS at 8,650 rpm along with a peak torque of 35 Nm at 7,000 rpm. It means the bike gets a power bump of around 4.9 PS compared to the current model (Modenas Dominar D400 in Malaysia) which offers 35 PS of maximum power. The 2019 Dominar gets the same stroke, bore, and triple spark plug configuration. The engine oil capacity has been increased by 200 ml, making it 1.7-litre.
In the update, the instrument cluster gets some useful touring-oriented features. It can now show fuel consumption as well, which updated in every 1.5 seconds. The average fuel consumption can be seen at a refresh rate of one minute along with the remaining range readout. Two trip meters have also been provided. The rider will now have a clear idea of his driving style which will enable him to manage the fuel efficiently.
The length, height, wheelbase, and ground clearance are the same as before, while the width of the bike has been expanded from 813 mm to 836 mm. It is expected that the handlebar will also be wider, thus, making the leverage easier. However, whether the ergonomics are changed or not, will only be known after the motorcycle’s launch.
