2018 Moto Guzzi Audace Carbon available at RM123,000

KUALA LUMPUR: Similar to the base model Audace, the 2018 Moto Guzzi Audace Carbon is now available for the Malaysian audience. What’s exclusive on the new version is the carbon-fiber fittings and contrasting red inserts that uplifts the aesthetics of the motorcycle big time.

Covered entirely in matte black, the Audace Carbon features red-colored cylinder head covers and front brake callipers. Additionally, the red acts as an accentuating shade to its split seats and wheels where stitching on the seat and lettering on the rims are red colour-coded. Moreover, the front mudguard and side panels on the fuel tank get carbon-fiber treatment.

The Audace Carbon tips the scales at 299 Kg and rolls on a pair of reliable and robust wheels, 18-inch at the front and 16-inch at the rear. The rider sits 740mm high on the new Audace Carbon which can be lowered to 720mm, available as an extra cost offering.

Powering the muscle motorcycle is a V-twin, Euro 4 compliant 1380cc engine that churns out a max power of 97.3 PS at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 121 Nm, mated to a 6-speed transmission system. The Audace Carbon is supported by ride-by-wire technology, which also gives it advantages of cruise control, traction control, and riding modes.

The Audace Carbon gains three different riding modes, including Veloce that translates to Sport, Turismo that means Touring and the last but not the least Pioggia, which means Rain.

On the suspension front, the Audace Carbon uses telescopic forks at the front and shock absorbers with remote reservoirs at the back that are twin pre-load and compression adjustable. The braking duties on the new Audace are handled by twin 320mm disc brakes and single 282mm disc, with Brembo calipers, at the front and rear respectively.
