2018 KTM Duke 200 launched in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: KTM has launched the 2018 Duke 200 model and claims it to be a better version over the known 2017 KTM Duke 390 and Duke 250 in Malaysia. It is priced at RM11,888 with the zero-rated tax. The price also excludes the registration, insurance, and OTR.

The KTM Duke 200 displayed its first look at the KTM Carnival in Johor Bharu where the new graphics stood out over the previous version. It comes in two colors with the combination of orange alloy wheels. It also has a new livery and two new Black & White paint schemes. The other noticeable features include an underbelly exhaust and LED tail light.

The Duke 200 draws power from the 199.5 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine that churns out a maximum power of 26 hp at a maximum of 10,000 RPM and a huge torque of 19.5 Nm at 8,000 RPM. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and can reach a top speed of 135 kmph, while offering a mileage of 35 kmpl as per the company’s claim.

At the front, the console has a display meter with a lot of information for the riders. The front suspension is incorporated with an upside-down WP 43 mm diameter fork. There is a WP monoshock propping at the rear end supporting the seat. The saddle height is set at 810 mm. The motorcycle a the Kerb weight of 148 kg and a high ground clearance of 170 mm. The wheelbase of 1367 mm is pretty short and compact, thereby indicating that the ride quality and handling is superb. It has a tank capacity of 10.2 litres.

The new KTM Duke is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tires. There is a 300 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear ones, which efficiently bring the motorcycle down from a higher speed.
