What is car tinting/window tinting?

What is the window tinting rule in Malaysia?
According to Motor Vehicles Rules, the minimum visible light transmission (VLT) percentage is stipulated to 70% for the front windscreen, and 50% for the front passenger side windows. The new regulations allow drivers to tint the rear windshields and passenger windows as dark as they want. On the contrary, the rear car windows were earlier allowed 30% VLT.
